Hello Monday June 28th, 2021

"It is not your (Guest's) job to remember you. It is your obligation and responsibility to make sure they don't have the chance to forget you. "--- Patricia Fripp

Something to watch.

Getting return visits is an essential layer in your sales process; it is easier to get that guest to come back again than to find new guests. Check out the interview with Jon Taffer from Bar Rescue on the Ask Gary Vee Show for some insightful sales-building tips for your restaurant.

Something to read.

This is an excellent article from Web FX; it highlights the importance of the sales process in driving your restaurant's revenue.

"marketing is the first step to getting leads interested, while sales take that interest and nurture it."

Something to listen to.

Even though they both get you from point A to point B… a Mercedes is twice as expensive as a Toyota. If you’re looking for a good red wine to pair with your steak, you might wander over to the aisle showcasing California Cabs. You’ll find that Screaming Eagle — if you’re lucky enough to even put your hands on a bottle — is ten times as expensive as Opus One. Restaurant Strategy Podcast -  #115 - Luxury vs. Commodity

Free at what cost?

Everything has a cost. It might not be a dollar value; it may cost time, energy or the big one opportunity cost. Not investing in a marketing strategy is free.

But what is the missed opportunity?

To achieve a return on your marketing investment, the first step is you need to invest.

There are many free marketing tools available, but free may be costing you if you are not using them correctly.

You create a website using a free tool.

You put up some pictures and create some content but is it effective?

Is the information people are after easy to find and understand?

Is it optimized for search engines?

Does it give a good understanding of the type of experience a guest will have at your restaurant?

With your website, you only have 5 seconds to make a great first impression.

However, you may have a "FREE" website, but if it is not converting websurfers into paying guests, then that's a missed opportunity.

Now "FREE" is costing you revenue and new guests.
